Join a small French conversation group today: learn, chat & connect!

Bonjour, I’m Sophie, a French tutor based in Melbourne! I’ve been teaching for over twelve years. Throughout my career, I’ve noticed that many students reach out with the same issue: they feel frustrated because they don’t get enough chances to speak — and it stops them from becoming more fluent.…

Let’s be honest: at the end of the day, all learners really want is to be able to chat with native speakers confidently, without freezing or overthinking every word! 😉

That’s exactly why I’ve created French conversation groups here in Australia: to give you real opportunities to practise, in a supportive environment!

Why join a French speaking group?

By joining our little club, you’ll get to…

Focus on speaking, not just studying

“I understand French, but when it’s time to speak, the words just don’t come out!”

I hear this sentence again and again. Many learners struggle to feel confident when communicating in a foreign language because classroom practise is limited. In class, they often focus on writing and grammar, and rarely get the chance to actually talk for a full hour.

By joining our French conversation group, you finally get to do the most fun and rewarding part of learning a language: speaking freely, and enjoying real discussions — in the world’s sexiest language! 😉

Improve your French through real conversations

Fluency comes from practise, not just theory. During our meetings, you’ll learn new words and cool phrases, and you’ll finally get to use all that grammar you’ve been studying — in real conversations. For example, our sessions could include:

  • Discussing your favourite movies, series, or books — and pick up new vocabulary along the way.

  • Sharing your next vacation plans and using the future tense naturally!

  • Talking about what you did yesterday (a perfect chance to practise the Passé Composé 😎).

  • And many other things!

Gain confidence every time you talk

The more you talk, the more confident and fluent you’ll feel. Here’s your chance to finally take up space and practise your favourite language 🥐!

Our sessions help you chat naturally, and improve step by step. And if you’re feeling a bit shy, don’t worry — everyone starts somewhere, and you’ll be surprised how quickly you’ll join the conversation!

Check out our article for some tips on how to overcome the fear of speaking French in a group.

Have some fun and relax

In our groups, you get to mix business with pleasure by talking about topics you enjoy and having fun while speaking in français 🥳. We might do some role play, play games, or simply chat about different themes.

Our sessions are relaxed, friendly, and far from a formal classroom — no stress, just discussions!

Connect with other Francophiles

Every learner of the language of Molière dreams of one thing: chatting with other Francophones over a café in a Parisian brasserie 😍.

In our groups, we do almost the same — just online or in Melbourne 😉. Consider it a first step!

One of the best things about our small crew is that you get to meet fellow lovers of the French language. You’ll chat, get inspired by others' stories, and maybe even make a few friends while improving your oral skills!
