Join our French speaking club online from anywhere

Do you live in a remote area in Australia — or anywhere else in the world — and struggle to find people to practise your favourite language with 😉? You’re not alone! A trip to France might not be on your schedule just yet… but what if you could boost your conversation skills even from the middle of nowhere?

That’s exactly what our French speaking club online is for! 🌏 Curious to know how it works? I’ll tell you all about it in this article!

Practise French from anywhere in Australia

Whether you’re from Wagga Wagga, Bendigo, Ballarat, Geelong, Aruba, Devonport in Tasmania or the other side of Australia… if you want to practise the language of ratatouille, there’s always a way! As long as you have an internet connection and a computer, you can join our online French conversation (B1) group

Meet and chat with other learners

One of the many cool things about joining a conversation group online is that you get to meet people who share your interest in the world’s sexiest language! Through our French speaking club online, you’ll have the opportunity to meet Francophiles from all over Australia and, who knows, maybe even make some new friends along the way!

Our little club is made up of a maximum of four participants to keep a friendly and intimate atmosphere where everyone gets a chance to express themselves. Right now, our group happens to be mostly women — kind of a ladies’ French conversation group by accident 😂! But of course, all genders are always welcome! 🌈

Boost your French skills week by week

If you’ve been following this blog for a while, you know our motto: the more opportunities you take to express yourself in the language of Molière, the more you will improve!

And that’s exactly what we aim for in our conversation club: giving you the chance, once a week, to practise speaking French for a full hour. By chatting with other learners and a native facilitator, you will find that, little by little, week after week, your vocabulary will grow and so will your confidence. Soon, you’ll notice that talking en français feels much smoother!

Here’s what one of our learners says about her experience 🙂:

“I feel like my spoken French is improving after being stagnant for a long time. I definitely feel more motivated to continue improving [...] I can say now I definitely feel less stressed about speaking. My confidence has improved and I feel I can express myself better even if it's not perfect, I'm more willing to have a go.” - Kate

Talk about various topics en français

Here’s how a typical session works: first, we start with a little icebreaker where each participant shares something about their week.

Then, with the help of our very cool (and native!) facilitator Matilde, we chat about all sorts of topics — anything from your favourite book, to whether you’re a cat or a dog person (deeply philosophical!), to your next holiday, hobbies, or just everyday life.

Curious about what our sessions look like? Here’s what some of our learners shared:

“We had a class where we discussed planning for holidays. We ended up discussing holiday mishaps and many funny stories were shared.”

“During the online lesson we were presented with an image on the screen and each asked to discuss what it might be. I thought it could relate to green or renewable energy and I explained my thoughts to the group. I had been speaking for a minute or two in French before I even realised [...]” 💪

Our goal is simple: to freely discuss topics that interest you, with absolutely no pressure!
