What are CEFR levels (A1 to C2)?

Can I join from outside Melbourne?

What ages and levels do you teach?

We teach children from 6 years old, teens (VCE), and adults.
All levels from A1 to C1, from beginners to advanced learners.
Conversation groups typically run at A2, B1, B2 and C1
How do you assess level and place students?

A short intake questionnaire plus a quick chat in your first session for private lessons.
For groups, we consider CEFR level and your confidence speaking.

Payment by bank transfer. A tax invoice is available on request.

Yes. Small groups on Zoom or Google Meet for A2, B1, B2 and C1 (from intermediate to advanced). Join from Melbourne or anywhere in Australia (Wagga Wagga, Geelong, Newcastle, Hobart, Gold Coast, Cairns, and more).

Yes. Structured VCE French wrtitten exam support across speaking, listening, reading, writing and VCE French Conversation. Also DELF/DALF and interview prep.

Where are lessons held?

Online via Zoom or Google Meet for French lessons and French conversation practice.
In‑person French group classes run only at the Kathleen Syme Library in Carlton, Melbourne (Australia).
No private in‑person lessons.
How big are the groups?

Small. Usually 3–6 learners to maximise speaking time in French group classes and French conversation groups.
Will I get notes, materials and homework?

Yes. For French lessons and French conversation groups you’ll receive slides, vocabulary lists, model answers and practice tasks, plus targeted corrections.
What is included in private lessons?

In French private lessons you get a plan for your goals, lesson notes and homework, plus targeted corrections between sessions when useful.
What is included in conversation groups?

Groups for different comfort levels, from “getting back into it” to “I want a challenge”
Online weekly 60 minutes, or in‑person fortnightly 90 minutes (Kathleen Syme Library, Carlton)
Speaking practice on real‑life topics and current resources (e.g. Louvre "robbery", travel, work, study)
Small groups (usually 3–6) so you speak a lot and get personal feedback
Live corrections on pronunciation, vocabulary and grammar, delivered kindly and clearly

If I miss a group class, can I make it up?

Missed a French group class? We’ll send you the notes and materials.
We don’t refund individual missed classes.
We only run one group per level, so there’s usually no space for make‑ups.
Can I get a certificate or proof of attendance?

Yes. For French lessons we can summarise your level, hours and topics covered on request. These letters are for information only and cannot be used to certify an official level or for any administrative purpose (e.g. visas, school enrolments, employer verification).
Yes. You’ll get slides, vocabulary lists, model answers and practice tasks.
We also share recommended textbooks and resources when useful.

Do you provide materials?

We teach mostly in French, with a supportive, communicative approach.
All teachers are native French speakers.
We also speak English well enough to explain clearly when needed and we use English briefly when it helps with clarity.

What is your cancellation policy?

Private lessons need 24 hours’ notice. Late cancellations/no‑shows are charged.
Groups aren’t refundable per session; notes and materials are provided.
Do you run classes during school holidays and public holidays?

Private lessons: by arrangement.
Groups: we usually follow the school holidays calendar unless noted.
Can I pause my package?

Yes, short pauses are possible with prior notice
