French-Speaking YouTubers You Should Follow
YouTube is my favourite resource to practise listening and maintain my English level! I just love having dinner while watching videos in the language of Shakespeare… That's why I encourage my students to do the same, in French. 😉
Because guess what? There are sooo many French-speaking YouTubers to follow out there, covering just about every topic you can think of! From travel and lifestyle to cooking or culture, I've put together a list of some of my favourites to help you get started!
Louise Aubery
Louise Aubery studied social sciences at the prestigious university of Sciences Po Paris, where she completed her Master's degree. While still a student, she launched what has since become a very popular YouTube channel, where she explores a wide range of topics related to society: feminism, philosophy, mental health, interviews with celebrities, and much more!
Her content is so diverse that it's hard to sum it all up in just a few words, but I definitely recommend checking out her channel if you're looking for food for thought. 💪

Hugo Décrypte
Are you into politics and current affairs? Then Hugo Décrypte is THE channel to follow! According to several polls, he's become one of the go-to sources of news for French people under 35. That's how popular his channel is!
Personally, I really enjoy catching up on the news by watching his videos from time to time. He covers both French current affairs and international politics, making complex topics accessible and easy to understand. I recommend checking out his series Les Actus du jour, a simple and accessible format in which he recaps the latest news.
Cyprien
Aaah, Cyprien! I actually grew up watching his videos. He was one of the most popular comedy YouTubers in France when I was in high school, back in the 2010s. 🤐
With millions of subscribers, he's still very famous in the Francophone world today. I often show his videos to my students to give them a taste of French humour and to hear some slang. Cyprien has made lots of hilarious videos in which he talks about everyday life and situations we can all relate to!
Laurette
Laurette is a French Youtubeuse in her 40s. She’s nicknamed la Maman de Youtube (YouTube's Mum), and I simply adore her because she has a bubbly personality, an adorable Southern accent, and genuine attitude.
Laurette’s channel covers lifestyle, fashion, beauty, and home renovation! She also openly shares her battle against cancer. 🫶
Little Gypsy
If you love travelling (and seriously, who doesn't?), you'll probably enjoy the channel of Morgane, aka Little Gypsy! She shares her adventures around the world, as well as her trips to different regions of France.
This backpackeuse is also passionate about protecting nature and animal welfare. Although she's not as active as she used to be, you can still find plenty of videos to enjoy on her YouTube channel!
David Laroche
David Laroche's channel is all about personal development and mindset. He’s kind of like the French Tony Robbins, si tu veux 😜...
This Parisian entrepreneur regularly interviews well-known personalities and celebrities to find out how they made it to where they are today, as well as the struggles and challenges they've faced along the way!

Inoxtag
Inoxtag is one of the most popular YouTubers among Gen Z in France. On his channel, he takes on all kinds of challenges, with a strong focus on adventure and pushing his limits!
His most famous project so far is probably Kaizen, a documentary released in 2024 about his year-long journey to climb Mount Everest. I’ve personally watched it and it is indeed pretty impressive.
Jamy - Epicurieux
Jamy Gourmaud is a French journalist specialising in science. Ask any Millennial in France and they'll tell you they grew up watching his TV show C'est pas sorcier (I sure did 🥹), a hugely popular programme dedicated to making science accessible to everyone!
Jamy has kept up with the times: in 2020, he started his own YouTube channel, Épicurieux. He explains scientific concepts, cultural facts and fascinating everyday topics in a fun and easy-to-understand way. So watching his channel is a great way to learn something new while improving your French!
Philippe Etchebest
Okay, let me tell you a secret: I'm not much of a cook! So I don't usually watch cooking videos on YouTube. However, I can definitely recommend Chef Philippe Etchebest, a renowned chef who comes from my region! 😉
He shares all kinds of recipes, from traditional French dishes to international cuisine! Chef Etchebest is also hugely popular in France thanks to his role in the TV show Cauchemar en cuisine, the French version of Kitchen Nightmares!
French-speaking YouTubers to follow: one last piece of advice
And there you have it! With this little list, you've got plenty of options to choose from. To finish, here are my last few tips ☝️:
Make sure you watch videos regularly to get your ear used to French (once or twice a week, at least!)
Pick a subject you enjoy, that's really important so you don't get bored!
Don't hesitate to slow down the videos to 0.85 or 0.90.
If possible, you may also turn on the French subtitles.
Keep a small notebook to jot down a few vocabulary words.
Happy watching! 😄 And if you have any other YouTube channel recommendations, feel free to tell us in the comments! ⤵️
